Welcome to the JAY4T network
Jabulani Youths for Transformation (JAY4T) is a grassroots, youth-led nonprofit based in Kisumu, Kenya. We exist to celebrate and harness the potential of African youth—transforming their talents, skills, and creativity into meaningful livelihoods and sustainable social enterprises.
Founded with the belief that youth are not problems to be fixed but partners in change, we work hand-in-hand with young people to co-create innovative solutions that uplift lives and communities.
How it all started
Jabulani Youths for Transformation was founded in December 2013 to create a community where everyone is empowered to work with each other to take action and build sustainable solutions for common challenges. From 2013 until 2017, JAY4T’s team of volunteers supported charitable activities including conducting food and clothing drives to support children’s homes in Kisumu and Nairobi. In addition to the charitable activities, the organisation sporadically engaged in youth mentorship, tree planting and environmental cleaning activities, and with the support of volunteers and local partners. JAY4T was formally registered as a non-profit in 2017 and started formal operations in 2018, enrolling the initial startups into incubation and acceleration programs to kick off the JAY4T entrepreneurship program which is currently the core focus of the organisation.

Our approach ensures that youth are not left behind but are at the forefront of designing, leading, and sustaining change.
